Can Vista be tweaked?

by Baysil Steinberg

Although Vista is new, and fast, sometimes it can seem a bit bogged down. Too many programs and not enough resources could be your problem. This could be due to having Vista Aero enabled. Aero is a resource consuming hog.

Vista Aero will literally eat up your available resources and leave you with not much left at all. Its a spectacular group of features which include helpful animations, transparent menu bars, visual effects and thumbnail previews.

Aero is installed as the default theme when Vista is installed on your system. This default theme hordes allot of valuable resources that could be effecting your system. Disabling this default theme will free up valuable resources, and you still keep the Vista look.

One thing that you will not have will be the 3-D flip option for the desktop, so if you can live without that go ahead and disable Aero to bring your system back up to speed. If you like the 3-D flip option then leave it as is to continue as you were.
